In 2001, Sage Wind Dancer, a sixteen-year-old girl, desires to learn about spiritual sexuality from her adopted Native Metis Grandmother, Spinning Winds.  Sage travels through time, visiting past lives, looking for threads of knowledge and wisdom to assist in her calling to learn about sacred sexuality. She visits herself in the 1500s, where she lives a tribal life as Dreams with the Wind, a young Native American woman. Here she finds the strongest connections to her current life.

She and her family attend the annual Ceremonial Dance, where she serves as an apprentice and witnesses several sacred ceremonies. She meets Josh, a young man studying the shamanic path and the ancient ways of sacred sexuality. They discover the power of the energy breath while in separate tents and are curious—will it be that intense if they embrace and breathe together?
